You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below.
Step 1
Start by using some curved lines to close an irregular round shape. Note that the shape consists of two spherical parts. The lower part is larger than the upper part. This shape sketches the head of the hip.
Step 2
Then sketch the nose and mouth. Draw the base of the mouth with a long, curved line, and it will bend as it crosses over the head. Use a round “M” shaped line.
Step 3
Sketch the lower jaw of the hip. Use a curved line to connect the top muzzle to the inside of the head. Then, draw the inside of the mouth, drawing another curved line from the edge of the mouth to the edge of the jaw.
Step 4
Remove the guidelines from the Hippo’s head.
Step 5
Draw an inverted “C” shape on the corner of the jaw, pointing to the cheek. Attach this part to the top of the mouth with a small, curved line. Above the mouth, draw two eyes. For each eye, draw three ovaries, one in the other eye. The shadow between the two smallest eggs to make a puppet. Closes a curved shape on each eye with two small lines. Remove the guidelines if necessary.
Step 6
Use “C” lines around the ears to wrap around each side of the Hippo’s head. Then describe the inside of each ear with curves.
Step 7
Sketch the body of the Hippo with two long and curved lines. Lines should be elliptical; Notice how the lines do not cross but instead form a parallel overlap. Draw a few curved lines that extend from the back of the head to the detail of the Hippo’s waist. Use two curved lines connecting to the shape of the tail, forming around the point at the end.
Step 8
Stretch the hippo legs, clearing the guidelines as needed. For each leg, two parallel curves spread below the body. Notice how the lines deviate slightly to sketch the foot. Join the bottom lines with the curved line. Then draw a loose, round “M” -shaped line on the front of each foot, pointing to the toes. Finally, draw a curved line under the head to detail the neck.
Step 9
Take a closer look at Hippo’s face. Draw two large eggs at the tip of the mouth. They point to the nostrils. Draw a curved line through each nostril to have a three-dimensional shape. Then draw a curved line below the center of the nose. Use curved lines to close each hippo tooth. Draw another curved line on each side to make them three-dimensional. Finally, use curves in the mouth to indicate the language.
Step 10
Paint your Hippo. In the wild, hippos are gray or brown with a pink accent. Cartoon hoops are most common.
